Employment Rehabilitation Reports and Services - "Back to Work"

Increasingly we are being asked to provide Claimants with employment rehabilitation support.

The offer of funded employment rehabilitation services early in the claim by the Defendants/Insurers may be a mechanism for positive settlement of the claim for both parties.

In litigation early intervention to help the Claimant mitigate employment and earnings loss can be seen as a positive approach by Courts and Tribunals.

Our "Back to Work" service provides a range of practical support tailored to help them make the transition back into work more effectively.

The Service Users

The following categories of clients find our "Back to Work" service helpful:

  • Claimant Solicitors who wish to offer their clients a more holistic approach to the litigation process and added value client care.
  • Defendants and Insurers who wish to offer a positive and constructive approach to the settlement of a claim.
  • Claimants who have received a financial settlement to their claim, but are unprepared for their future employment, and wish to have help and support to re-enter the labour market in employment or self-employment.

The Purpose of the Service

Many people with health and disability problems who are not working have received little or no help in preparing for any entry or re-entry into work. Frequently they lack confidence and motivation and have little knowledge of services available to them that could provide useful employment rehabilitation. Some have never undertaken a job search.

The longer employment rehabilitation is delayed, the more difficult it can be for people to make the transition back into work.

For these reasons Employment Advisory Specialists offers the "Back to Work" service.

Service Options

Initial Employment Rehabilitation Assessment Report

Assessment reports are prepared following detailed analysis of the Claimant’s pre-injury employment, educational and training history profile and relevant medical reports.

Reports cover areas including a diagnosis of transferable skills, training needs, and training options together with an analysis of the local labour market and potential occupational profiles and job availability.

Employment Rehabilitation Progress Reports

Subsequent assistance can build on the initial assessment report and typically can include:

  • Career planning and information
  • Job search support
  • Support in CV writing and written job applications
  • Securing access to other local services for assistance and funding
  • Interviewing skills support, including mock interviews
